Wow. It has really been a while since I've posted! My little Esmond Leopold is almost ONE! I can't believe it. It's been the best most incredible year ever. He makes me so happy and I have no idea what I would do without him. Our little man sleeps with us at night (which my mother and a few others have given me a pretty hard time about) but I love spending every minute I can with him. Life is too short and our life with him even shorter. One day he will grow up and move away and I will not regret spending every waking (and sleeping) moment with our little love.
For his first birthday we have gotten him lots of exciting gifts and I can hardly wait to show him! I hope he feels so special and loved on his first birthday. I even ordered him a little outfit with his name and the number 1 complete with little frog prince on it. I'll have to post pictures. Not that I have any followers at this point but I guess I'm writing to the internet god's or something. Whatever... :) I can pretend I guess. Anyway we're going to have a few people over, mostly family, to celebrate his big day. I'm really looking forward to it but I have a lot to do...
A beautiful life

39 Weeks Today
Today little Leopold and I are 39 weeks, just 7 days from our due date! It's hard to believe that a week or so from now I will have a little guy to keep me company everywhere I go :). I'm working on getting our hospital bag/diaper bag packed. I've gotten most of the items I want in it but still need a few things. I read somewhere this past week that babies who make it past 39 weeks gestation have healthier hearts. I also read that babies born past 40 weeks have a higher neo-natal death probability. Soo... though I'm sure there are many factors in these findings that do not apply to us, the window is now... we just need to get him out this week and all will be well!

37 Weeks Today
Today I am 37 weeks along, the baby is perfect and I wish I had some belly pictures to post. Matthew and I are getting even more excited (if that's possible!), we just can't wait to see his little face and spend time with him. It's crazy to think that he'll be here in about 3 weeks, but he could be here any day. This is my favorite season, the air is so crisp and the nights are longer. I love that we're going to have him during the fall.
This is what Mayo Clinic says about 37 weeks:
This is what Mayo Clinic says about 37 weeks:
Week 37: Baby is full-term
Thirty-seven weeks into your pregnancy, or 35 weeks after conception, your baby will be considered full-term. Your baby's organs are ready to function on their own. To prepare for birth, your baby may descend into the head-down position.
Our baby has been in the head down position since about 26 weeks.
And this is what Parents Connect says about 37 weeks:
Your Pregnancy: Week 37
Your baby is officially baked this week! That means you could literally give birth at any given moment. A terrifying, exciting and overwhelming concept, all rolled into one. Your partner is undoubtedly having the same emotional roller-coaster ride, so be sure to share your feelings and enjoy these last weeks (days?! hours?!) together.
Wondering what's up with your body, your baby and your life this week? Read on ...
What You're Thinking:
"I can't eat, I can't sleep, but I can do a great imitation of a beached whale. Seriously, are we almost done with this?"
Your Body
You made it! Your baby is considered full term at the end of this week. So kick your swollen feet up and swig back a glass of lemonade. All that hard work has finally paid off!

I wouldn't say Matt is on an emotional roller-coaster ride, but he is excited to 'get the call' that I'm going into labor. As far as not eating or sleeping, I havn't had any trouble at all actually. In fact, because I've started watching an 8.5 month old I've been more tired and actually taking naps as well as sleeping in.
So we are ready to meet him, the time has finally come (maybe).

The Dance
Life goes by so fast when you're in love. Before you know it years have gone by, you're 25 and expecting your first child; and before you know it that child will be 25 and expecting their first child. Life is a dance, it's full of missteps and a few falls, nothing is forever; but I'd never miss this dance.

August 27th 2010
Matthew reminds me to update my blog and yesterday he told me it had been a long time. We have been busy with our wedding week at the beach and an 8 month old we've starting watching.
The wedding week was beautiful, we stayed in Nags Head NC and the weather was great, it was so nice to be there with friends and family. We were married friday August 20th 2010. I am glad we chose to be married during a weeks vacation with people that mean so much to us. Matthew and I love the beach and could not think of a better place to be married. We've been going to OBX NC since we were kids. I'm not sure when we'll have pictures of our own so here are a few some friends took.
