Matthew reminds me to update my blog and yesterday he told me it had been a long time. We have been busy with our wedding week at the beach and an 8 month old we've starting watching.
The wedding week was beautiful, we stayed in Nags Head NC and the weather was great, it was so nice to be there with friends and family. We were married friday August 20th 2010. I am glad we chose to be married during a weeks vacation with people that mean so much to us. Matthew and I love the beach and could not think of a better place to be married. We've been going to OBX NC since we were kids. I'm not sure when we'll have pictures of our own so here are a few some friends took.

Baby Cries
I came across a portion of a book that really made an impression on me. It is about what happens when a baby cries himself to sleep during a restless night. I think a mother can tell when her baby is whining and when he needs something. But I also think that newborns do not yet know how to whine... so there will be no crying alone for our little man. This is the quote, it is from the book the "No Cry Sleep Solution":
"He awakes in a mindless terror of the silence, the motionlessness. He screams. He is afire from head to foot with want, with desire, with intolerable impatience. He gasps for breath and screams until his head is filled and throbbing with the sound. He screams until his chest aches, until his throat is sore. He can bear the pain no more and his sobs weaken and subside. He listens. He opens and closes his fists. He rolls his head from side to side. Nothing helps. (...) He begins to cry again, but it is too much for his strained throat; he soon stops. He waves his hands and kicks his feet. He stops, able to suffer, unable to think, unable to hope. He listens. Then he falls asleep again."

Baby 4d Sonogram Today (and tons of traffic, to our dismay!)
We drove to Fairfax for a 4d sonogram appointment. We've waited months for this appointment and the baby wouldn't move away from my back(!). He was very difficult to see, the sonographer had me move all different directions before we could see his profile. He was very active but his hands (and feet) were covering his head a large part of the time. We know he has great lips and Matt's nose. The sonographer kept saying how cute he is, but I'm sure she tells everyone that so it made me wonder if he was cute at all. Maybe when she says 'oh wow he's cute' she means 'oh man look at that funny nose and huge lips'. We sat in traffic for hours on the way up (we were late) and again on the way home. Matthew had to leave for work as soon as we got home and we left at around 9 am. I'm glad we got to see him, even if he didn't show us as much as we'd hoped to see. I was a little worried that we'd waited too long, I think I've read that they start to get pretty cramped in there by 29 weeks. I think we might have gotten a better look a week ago, but we also wanted him to be well developed. I see it's a very small window. Anyway, it was great to see him and get a feel for what he'll look like. The sonogram definitely doesn't last long enough though! I felt extremely disappointed when she ejected the tape and we had to leave, it seemed to me we'd just gotten there. I wonder if he'll be disgusted one day when we tell him we saw him licking his placenta... though I guess it's no worse than the thought of sucking on your mothers' boobs. Maybe we wont tell him...
Also, the sonographer said I look really small and I must get that a lot. Well, I do. Is it me that is small or him? Or is everyone else big? I don't know, makes me a little uneasy though.
One more thing: Lately we have been talking about the name Rory. I think he kind of looked like a Rory in his 4d shot, so it just might be his name. What do you think?

We had our 28 week glucose test today, this is us waiting in the office. We switched doctors again and had a few more tests done. This is the final switch and we really like our new doctor, the office is brand new and wasn't packed. In fact, we were the only patients in the office and we were there for 2 hours. It was really nice, we went from being ignored and pushed aside to being the center of attention. It was great that the nurses and doctor actually had time to spend with us. They answered all of our questions and told us some things we didn't already know, which sadly made me really happy. We will be delivering at the new Spotsylvania hospital which is less than 5 minutes away from our townhouse, I'm hoping that is just as low in volume... but we'll see. Our wedding is less than a month away! We can't wait to spend the week at the beach with our close family. We absolutely love the beach, and being there with our friends and family just makes it even better. I'm already dreading the day we have to leave and we haven't even gotten there yet.

Despicable Me
Ian, my littlest brother, and I saw this movie today at 12:10, it was really cute. He's been watching the previews for months and looking forward to seeing it. I thought it was great, typical for Pixar.
The baby has been moving around a lot, I'm not sure if it is because he is getting bigger or space is getting tighter... probably both. It's good to know he is growing though. We get to meet our little man in three months, his due date is three months from tomorrow :). I cannot wait to meet him (and to sleep however I want!).

26th Week
Still pretty small as far as the baby bump (this is 26 weeks 3 days), I'm waiting for it to explode...
Matt has been making us lots of BLT's, which are delicious! I LOVE BLT's. The wedding is just 6 weeks away and we are finishing our final preparations. Mom flew out to California yesterday and will return next wednesday to leave again thursday for FL. Matthew and I watched movies with Dad and Ian last night, Adam is at the Naval Academy for soccer camp. All is well and everyone is healthy :). Matthew and I are still talking about names, it looks like the little man will not have one until he gets here so we can see what he looks like. We cannot wait to meet him!
It has been so so hot outside, the car said 106 yesterday and I don't think it was exaggerating... We went for a run/bike (Matt runs I bike :)) today and Matthew was SOAKED when we finished. He had to jump in the river. We started a Target baby registry today but haven't put much on it... not much else is new, we can't complain :). Oh Matthew has been so great! (Just wanted to throw that in).

25 Weeks today :) We used our Bellybuds for the first time

We used our Bellybuds for the baby and the first song he heard was Last Kiss by Pearl Jam. He was 'dancing' all around :). We then put Mozart on for him and he had been listening to that for a few hours when Matthew took a few pictures. The red juice on my shirt is from the delicious BLT's Matthew made us for late lunch. Today is a lazy sunday, I love days like this. We just hang out in our pj's all day watching movies.
